Marketing is the top thing that authors say that they struggle with, and when you look at the Big 4 publishers and the money they throw at their bestsellers, it’s understandable that you may feel more than a little daunted by the prospect. I will present marketing best practices I have learned over 18 years as a publisher. These may not turn your book into a New York Times bestseller, but I hope that they will give you the inspiration that marketing is not as scary as it seems. Whether you are self-published or traditionally published, and even if you don’t have a large marketing budget (especially then), I hope that you will take away something new to help you market your book. Topics will cover: Advertising on a Budget, Best-seller or Bust (events and promotions), The Importance of Newsletters, Awards!, Book Bloggers are our Friends, and Unconventional Marketing Tips.

Geoff Habiger is an author and managing editor at Artemesia Publishing. He’s published 6 novels, 1 activity book, and several short stories and has managed Artemesia since 2004 with over 50 books published in that time. Geoff lives in the East Mountains near Albuquerque.
