The best way to learn anything is to immerse yourself in a community of people who are already doing it. The SouthWest Writers organization has beginning writers, short story writers, poets, magazine writers, book writers, bloggers, screenwriters, newspaper writers and people interested in just about every other kind of literary field there is.

Like any non-profit we need people willing to help us move forward on a number of levels in order to best serve us all. Can you help? There are a number of opportunities that members can choose which allow us to get to know each other while forwarding the goals of the organization. For instance, you can become a mentor to someone who may become the next Pulitzer winner!
A lot of exciting opportunities come with the 2026 Literary Festival – that will take many hands and be a lot of fun too. We need planners, and coordinators for the events, the bookstore, the food, registration, publicity and probably a lot more!
