Bio

I am an educator who has lived my adult life here in the Southwest. I love the vibrant mix of cultures, natural beauty, and sense of timelessness here. Writing poetry is a favorite hobby, but suspect it would lose its freshness if I tried to make a living writing it! I look forward to being a member of SouthWest Writers.

More from Linda

My writing is a hybrid of verse and poetic essays. Each can be enjoyed individually, but in book form, each is used as a component to make up a larger poem—the book. They are poems within a poem. Although written for adults, this hybrid genre can also engage the mind of young adults.

Everyone likes to have their own opinions and think critically! My writing shakes thoughts loose, enabling the reader to visualize and critically analyze their own humanity. It draws one back to basics.

Books

Title: Catch a Twinkle: A Foreverness of Life in Verse
Published: Sunstone Press, November 2025
Genre: Poetry

From minutiae:
A spot on a ladybug is—
Spot on!
As are spots on leaves?
On feathers?
So self-contained, perfect, concise, unassuming.
Dottings of fun—dit!-dit!-dit!—an attuning,
Each striking a precise spot
In one’s mind.

To big-picture moments:
If the universe and all its processes are expanding outward
In time and space,
Might it not be expanding to and until—
A single point?
The point where it all began.
The Big Pifft.

To all things in between!
The poems are formatted one per day for a year—although a reader can jump in at any point and play catch-up.
