Bio

Bill Nevins is the Poet Laureate of the Enchanted Circle of New Mexico (2026-2029). He is the author of the collection Light Bending published 2025 by Sligo Creek Publishing of Washington DC. Nevins also has published two chapbooks and he is profiled in the 2007 documentary film Committing Poetry in Times of War. He is a cultural journalist publishing in TREND Magazine, Green Left online and The Enchanted Circle News. Bill and his partner Jeannie Allen live in Taos and in their mountain cabin in Black Lake, New Mexico. Bill was born in 1947 and grew up in the NYC area and lived in the US northeast before moving to New Mexico in 1996. He has taught at UNM, CNM and several NM secondary schools. He is a grandfather and a Gold Star parent.

Jack “Jinx” Kiley, a former professional Irish football player born in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland in 1947, worked for many years as an armed private investigator in the UK and in various exotic war zones before retiring to his isolated cabin near Black Lake, New Mexico some 15 years ago. He divides his time between playing Irish traditional tunes on the bodhran and electric guitar and sampling “drops of the pure” (rare and powerful Irish whiskies), while enjoying the company of his faithful Irish Wolfhound Moglai Bap on fishing and hunting expeditions throughout the more remote parts of The Enchanted Circle. Jack is rumored to have been a close friend and “partner in crime” of both Dennis Hopper and John Nichols. He tells TECN, “The statute of limitations has expired for what we did, mostly, thanks be to the goddess Scáthach!” You may contact him, if you must, via The Enchanted Circle News, but it is best to leave him alone as he can be decidedly contrary.
