Are there any honorable mentions in each category? That is usually the case in the majority of writing contests. Thank you for your time.

  2. Andy Mayo says:

The contest has never included an honorable mention but we will consider it for next year. Thanks for commenting.

  3. Ja'Nee Newman says:

For those of us that paid an additional $25.00 for Judge’s comments, when may we expect those comments to be mailed to us?

  4. Andy Mayo says:

Critiques for four categories have been distributed and the remainder should be completed early next week.

  5. Robert Steedman says:

Will the 2015 competition be expanded to include fantasy novels?

    • Kathy Wagoner says:

The categories for next year’s competition haven’t been finalized yet. As soon as we know, we’ll post them on the site. Thank you!

  6. I have been a contestant several times in Southwest Writers’ competitions and have always found the critiques and comments amazingly helpful! I got my first publication (a short story) through placing in a contest! This is a great contest and a wonderful group!
